Summer Lunch With A Twist

So far nearly 120 have booked for this month’s Business Network Manchester event – and it’s a Business Lunch with a bit of a twist. The new Salford City Stadium did a great job when we visited earlier in the year so I’m looking forward to another vibrant event.

This Week’s Manchester Event

I am delighted to say that we have over 100 booked for the event on Thursday this week at The Lowry Hotel – there are still some places available. Please remember that as well as Sharon Wright, Inventor of the Year and successful Dragon’s Den contestant, we also have Chris Pacey from Charles Mitchell Wines providing a Fine Wine and Champagne Tasting Masterclass following the lunch.

Simple But True

Whenever you attend a Networking event, probably the only thing you need to remember to help you get the most from the format is that you are there to get the people you meet to know, like and trust you.

The June Event At The Macdonald Manchester Hotel

Great to see that we have nearly 120 booked for our event on Thursday – and that the Will Kintish seminar on LinkedIn is over subscribed. I think it just emphasizes the value people put on their Networking activities, particularly when times are challenging. The support that an effective Network can offer can prove invaluable.

Seminar Places Going

The pre-lunch seminar, being presented by Will Kintish on the effective use of LinkedIn, and taking place on Thursday 23rd June just prior to the next Business Network Manchester event, looks like it may end up being over subscribed; there are only 50 places available and half of them have been taken already. If you want to reserve a place please follow this link.

Networking Tip

Having a genuine interest in people is a tremendous asset when Networking as you tend, quite naturally, to do the things that makes Networking work. For example, one of the things you should be trying to achieve when at an event is to ‘be remembered’, and a great way to help this happen is to demonstrate that you have listened carefully to someone you are in conversation with by asking relevant ‘follow-up’ questions. This helps set you apart from some others as a lot of people spend their time talking rather than listening, or preparing what they are going to say next, rather that being fully involved in the conversation. So, make sure you show genuine interest – and get remembered for all the right reasons.

Thank You

It’s wonderful when you receive nice, positive comments from people about our events – I really appreciate the time people take to feed-back. However, I also appreciate that a great deal of the recognition for a job well done must go to all of you who attend. Take yesterday’s event in Manchester for example where we had over 100 attend, and the comments I received from Mark Clough from Venture Resources who came along for the first time:

“many thanks for a great afternoon – I was really taken by your enthusiasm and total passion for what you are doing – it actually contributes greatly to the commitment of your guests who all seem genuine people committed to growing their business and their fellow guest’s businesses”.

So a very big Thank You to all of you who come regularly to our events and personally demonstrate that Networking is about looking to support others.
